One fateful day, Eleanor leaps from a cliff and is torn from her world altogether. She meets a mysterious stranger, Mea, who reveals to Eleanor the weight of her family’s loss. To save her broken parents, and rescue herself, Eleanor must learn how deep the well of her mother’s grief and her father’s heartbreak truly goes. Esmerelda’s death was not the only tragic loss in her family’s fragmented history, and unless Eleanor can master her strange new abilities, it may not be the last.
My Thoughts
I started reading this book without knowing much about it other than I loved the cover, that I was very intrigued by the title and the synopsis. As soon as I started reading it I knew it was going to be a very different book from the ones I'm used to read and hoped was going to be a enjoyable read, which it was. Actually this was a very rare but unique and beautifully written story.
I will allow myself on this one to use part of the book description because that was something else that made me want to choose and read this book. There were times throughout the reading that I was really upset for all going on, I was so invested in the story that it was almost that I could feel what the characters were feeling and that is huge part of what a great story teller does. Eleanor is a story of loss, tragedy, grief, but it is also a story of coming to terms with really even thought the reality is very painful.
Eleanor shows the powerful writing style of his Author and how he wants to give the characters the place they deserve in the story. I like how all the elements on this books are well combined to bring us a magnificent piece of art. Very touching subjects and matters surround the story but they way the Author manages to work them is brilliant.
Overall, unique and hearth felt story, a fantastic book which I totally recommend.
