Book Review: P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han-NA/Contemporary/Romance

Hello dear Readers,

Below my book review of P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han.

Title: P.S. I Still Love You
Rating: 5/5 Stars
Genre: Fiction/Teens
Author: Jenny Han
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books
Publication Date: May 26, 2015
Language: English
Hardcover: 352 pages
Meet the Author: Jenny Han

Book Description
Given the way love turned her heart in the New York Times bestselling To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, which SLJ called a “lovely, lighthearted romance,” it’s no surprise that Lara Jean still has letters to write.

Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter.

She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever.

When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

In this charming and heartfelt sequel to the New York Times bestseller To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, we see first love through the eyes of the unforgettable Lara Jean. Love is never easy, but maybe that’s part of makes it so amazing.

My Thoughts

I am in love with these characters and their story. Revisiting Lara Jean's world is always a joy. She is one of these characters you cant forget.

I loved the book and how Lara Jean's character has grown from book one and how we can see more of her, her family and the two boys in her life now, Peter and John.

I have to say I did not like the love triangle at the beginning but the more I read the more sense it made and liking Lara Jean and the story I think it turned out well. Kitty is another of my favorite characters, I like how smart she is for her age. I just love the family dynamics, their relationship. Its being a pleasure as a reader to be a part of this world and these characters and cant wait to read book number 3.

Book Review: La Niña Alemana (The German Girl Spanish Edition): A Novel by Armando Lucas Correa/Historical Fiction /NETGALLEY READ

Publication Date: October 18, 2016
Language: Spanish
Paperback: 368 pages

Book Description

My Thoughts

Thank you Atria Books and Netgalley for sending a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Book Review: You Will Know Me by Megan Abbott /Mystery and Thriller /NETGALLEY READ

Hello dear Readers,

Below my book review of You Will Know Me: A Novel by Megan Abbott.

Title: You Will Know Me: A Novel
Rating: / Stars
Genre: Mystery/Thriller-Psychological Thriller
Author: Megan Abbott
Publisher: Little, Brown and Company
Publication Date: July 26, 2016
Language: English
Hardcover: 352 pages

Book Description

The audacious new novel about family and ambition from "one of the best living mystery writers" (Grantland) and bestselling, award-winning author of The Fever, Megan Abbott.

How far will you go to achieve a dream? That's the question a celebrated coach poses to Katie and Eric Knox after he sees their daughter Devon, a gymnastics prodigy and Olympic hopeful, compete. For the Knoxes there are no limits--until a violent death rocks their close-knit gymnastics community and everything they have worked so hard for is suddenly at risk.

As rumors swirl among the other parents, Katie tries frantically to hold her family together while also finding herself irresistibly drawn to the crime itself. What she uncovers--about her daughter's fears, her own marriage, and herself--forces Katie to consider whether there's any price she isn't willing to pay to achieve Devon's dream.

From a writer with "exceptional gifts for making nerves jangle and skin crawl" (Janet Maslin), You Will Know Me is a breathless rollercoaster of a novel about the desperate limits of parental sacrifice, furtive desire, and the staggering force of ambition.

My Thoughts

One of the best books I have read this year. I could not put it down. Kept me on the edge from the first page to the last one. I definitely was not expecting how things turned out, what a surprise!.

A very intriguing and mysterious story, how well all the elements on this book work together. The characters, the setting, the dialogue, the plot twists. I loved how hopeful but at the same time dark this book is.

I liked the dynamics between all the members of the Knox family, how strong but damaged this family is which helps the story to be a very interesting one.

A story about family, love, dreams, obstacles, darkness and how far we are willing to go for the people we love.

A must read which I totally recommend and cant wait to read more of Megan Abbott books.

Thank you Little, Brown and Company and Netgalley for sending a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

New Release Tuesday #53: October 4, 2016

Hello dear Readers,

This week a new book from New York Times Bestselling Author Lauren Oliver, Replica. Two Girls, two stories, one epic novel.

Title: Replica
Genre: YA-Fiction
Author: Lauren Oliver
Publisher: Harper Collins
Publication Date: October 04, 2016
Language: English
Hardcover: 544 pages
Meet the Author: Lauren Oliver
Buy Me: Amazon

Book Description

Two girls, two stories, one epic novel
From Lauren Oliver, New York Times bestselling author of Before I Fall and the Delirium trilogy, comes an epic, masterful novel that explores issues of individuality, identity, and humanity. Replica is a “flip book” that contains two narratives in one, and it is the first in a duology. Turn the book one way and read Lyra’s story; turn the book over and upside down and read Gemma’s story. The stories can be read separately, one after the other, or in alternating chapters. The two distinct parts of this astonishing novel combine to produce an unforgettable journey. Even the innovative book jacket mirrors and extends the reading experience.
Lyra’s story begins in the Haven Institute, a building tucked away on a private island off the coast of Florida that from a distance looks serene and even beautiful. But up close the locked doors, military guards, and biohazard suits tell a different story. In truth, Haven is a clandestine research facility where thousands of replicas, or human models, are born, raised, and observed. When a surprise attack is launched on Haven, two of its young experimental subjects—Lyra, or 24, and the boy known only as 72—manage to escape.
Gemma has been in and out of hospitals for as long as she can remember. A lonely teen, her life is circumscribed by home, school, and her best friend, April. But after she is nearly abducted by a stranger claiming to know her, Gemma starts to investigate her family’s past and discovers her father’s mysterious connection to the secretive Haven research facility. Hungry for answers, she travels to Florida, only to stumble upon two replicas and a completely new set of questions.
While the stories of Lyra and Gemma mirror each other, each contains breathtaking revelations critically important to the other story. Replica is an ambitious, thought-provoking masterwork.
